Cruise Liner Visuals

Cruise Liner Visuals ‘look remarkably like the finished vessel’. (Philip Morrell, Magna Carta).

8 months ago Conka 3D were commissioned to produce a number of internal and external visuals of a luxury Thames cruise liner for ship refurbishment company Magna Carta. Conka were able to produce these images using only 2D drawings and some reference images from some luxury trains of the 1920’s.

The completed images were a success and the client was not only able to use them for reference when designing the vessel, they were also used on marketing material to promote the cruise before the refurbishment was complete. The images have also been entered in the Cardiff design awards under the CGI category and Conka are confident they will do well. However the biggest accolade is seeing images of the vessel in its finished state. Putting the photographs side by side with the visuals not only shows the level of realism and detail that Conka are able to achieve but also how the visuals have assisted in the design of the vessel.

The image below shows the exterior at its three stages of development, before the refurbishment, the proposed design and the completed vessel. This not only illustrates how Conka is able to transform images into exactly what the client is looking for but it also shows the number of ways in which visuals can be used. Whether it be for marketing purposes or helping the client to design and ultimately visualise their finished product.

Now that the refurbishment of the vessel has been completed the cruise liner named ‘The Spirit of Chartwell’ can be seen taking cruises along the Thames.

Conka 3D have recently finished a 3d visualisation campaign for London Based branding agency Bisqit. We produced a number of bespoke abstract images for use in an annual report for Middle East based blue chip company. Conka 3D collaborated with the design agency on developing the visuals and are now in discussions about other future projects.

3D visualisation for Breffo in Stuff magazine

The February edition off Stuff magazine (worlds best selling gadget magazine) has used the images produced by Conka 3D of the recently designed and manufactured “Spiderpodium” by Conka Design (our product design team).

The product was launch last Fridayat the Autosport Show at the NEC and sold out over the weekend, stock is currently being replenished and can be ordered online here www.breffo.com

Trademark from 3D visualisation

Document management and Imaging company “Version One” asked Conka 3D to develop a 3D character of a Gecko to be used for registering a trademark as part of the “Clean and Green” project.

Conka produced the bespoke image and developed a number of textures which means Version One were able to protect their Intellectual property and strengthen the brand.

Conka is discussing producing the Gecko 3D visualisation in a number of different poses in further web and print campaigns.

3D visualisation project moves to manufacture!

Earlier this year Conka 3D produced multiple 3D visualisation images of a new product concept called the “Spider Podium”. The 3d visualisations were used to allow the manufacturer to carry out vital research and test the market response as well as aiding the client to approach retailers, magazines and other buyers to gauge interest in the product. As a direct response to the findings of the 3D visualsiation market research the product is now in the finishing stages of manufacture tooling and will begin a full UK roll out in January 2010.

3D visualisation can really add value to product development and research by providing a “first look” of a new product at a much lowercost compared to producing prototypes with dramatically quicker lead times.

Cruise Ship Images

Conka 3D have won a project to produce a number of exciting 3d visualisastion images on a brand new cruise ship currently in production. The images will showcase both external and internal views of the development and will be used for lighting tests and marting purposes.

Over the last 12 months the Conka studio based just outside Cardiff has seen steady growth in all sectors of the digital marketing industry.
