CONKA DESIGN NEEDS YOU!

| May 31st, 2011 | No Comments »

Conka Design has made it to the final of Barclays’ Take One Small Step competition! Our unique concept captivated the expert panel of judges — but our fate now lies in the all-important public vote.

How We Got This Far…

Conka Design is dedicated to restoring Britain’s manufacturing status, and we take pridein the fact that each of our services — from the designing and developing to the actualmanufacturing of products — is carried out on home turf, enabling us to help boost theBritish economy.

Our concept challenges the low overseas manufacturing costs to help boost the UKeconomy and create new jobs, and eliminates the need for carbon-heavy shipping.

The UK was once renowned for being one of the world’s leading innovators andmanufacturers and we know it’s possible to regain this status. For this reason we’repassionate about maintaining all aspects of the business in the UK and we know that theability to boast ‘Made In The UK’ adds significant value to a product.

The Conka Design team’s combined experience, expertise and design skills provides aone-stop-shop for our clients — who range from budding entrepreneurs armed with onlyan idea, to established businesses looking to expand their existing product lines —guiding them through the entire design and manufacturing process. Our unrivalled concept has produced a number of success stories, including Breffo’sSpiderpodium — where our design team’s expertise transformed an initial sketch into anaward-winning Smartphone accessory, which now sells globally on a mass scale!

Vote For Conka Design!

We have collaborated with some of the world’s most well known brands (includingMicrosoft, Sharp and Virgin), but in order for us to continue setting the standard in UKdesign and manufacturing — and expand our increasingly sought-after services andmanufacturing facilities to keep up with this demand — winning the Barclays Take OneSmall Step competition is crucial. Vickers Wellington In Flight

| March 29th, 2011 | No Comments »

We recently created a 3D visualisation of a Vickers Wellington in flight for the cover artwork of a flight simulator PC game. We created a replica 3D cad model of the plane using various reference’s and rendered the image over a rough sea/coastal scene (the Wellington Bomber was largely used a an anti submarine aircraft so a sea based theme was essential). The artwork has recently featured on the Creattica  Website.3D visualisation

Cruise Liner Visuals

| September 6th, 2010 | Comments Off

Cruise Liner Visuals ‘look remarkably like the finished vessel’.  (Philip Morrell, Magna Carta).

8 months ago Conka 3D were commissioned to produce a number of internal and external visuals of a luxury Thames cruise liner for ship refurbishment company Magna Carta. Conka were able to produce these images using only 2D drawings and some reference images from some luxury trains of the 1920′s.

The completed images were a success and the client was not only able to use them for reference when designing the vessel, they were also used on marketing material to promote the cruise before the refurbishment was complete. The images have also been entered in the Cardiff design awards under the CGI category and Conka are confident they will do well. However the biggest accolade is seeing images of the vessel in its finished state.  Putting the photographs side by side with the visuals not only shows the level of realism and detail that Conka are able to achieve but also how the visuals have assisted in the design of the vessel.

Some visuals and photographs of the interior can be seen below, see if you can tell the difference.

The image below shows the exterior at its three stages of development, before the refurbishment, the proposed design and the completed vessel. This not only illustrates how Conka is able to transform images into exactly what the client is looking for but it also shows the number of ways in which visuals can be used. Whether it be for marketing purposes or helping the client to design and ultimately visualise their finished product. 3d visualisation

Now that the refurbishment of the vessel has been completed the cruise liner named ‘The Spirit of Chartwell’ can be seen taking cruises along the Thames.
